STANDARD FIREWORKS SAFETY POSTER DESIGN COMPETITION Date: 10/09/2019

Huddersfield Town and Standard Fireworks have today launched their Poster Design competition which aims to promote the Firework Safety Code in the run up to bonfire night.

This year the initiative is open to all Children who are aged 11 and under with the winning poster being used to aid firework safety as well as receiving a large selection box of Fireworks courtesy of Standard Fireworks (these must be accepted by an adult over the age of 18).

Entries must be drawn by hand and on an A4 sheet of paper. The poster must include the logos of Huddersfield Town and Standard Fireworks as well as the Firework Safety Code:

• Always read the instructions before use
• Stand well back
• Never play with Fireworks
• Never put fireworks in your pocket
• Never go back to a lit firework
• Hold sparklers at arms length
• Never give sparklers to a child Under-5
• Fireworks must be used by Adults only
• Keep pets indoors

The winner will also be invited to the Huddersfield Town vs Birmingham City fixture on Saturday 23 November 2019 and will be given the chance to start the display at Town’s annual family fun firework event on Sunday 27 October.

We are delighted to have the opportunity to be partnering with Huddersfield Town and the local schools to help raise awareness of Firework Safety through our design a safety poster competition.

“Standard Fireworks have been part of the Huddersfield community for over 128 years and we believe we have a responsibility to help educate children about the dangers associated with improper use fireworks and how they can be used safely by adults following the firework code.

“The poster campaign is designed to help children have fun and be creative, whilst understanding how to keep safe and be considerate of others.

“Fireworks bring joy to millions of people each year and is a great tradition that brings families together for an evening of unique fun, anticipation and excitement.”

The closing date for entries is Friday 27 September 2019.

All entries should include the child’s name, date of birth, home address, contact telephone number and school name on the back of the poster and should be returned to:
