Huddersfield Town can confirm a new sponsor will adorn the front of its home shirt from the start of the 2015/16 Championship season.
The logo of Rekorderlig, the ‘Beautifully Swedish’ Cider brand, has been displayed on the front of the home shirt for the past three years, but the Club can confirm that a new brand will take that place as of next season.
That new company will join an elite group of companies that has been displayed on the front of the team’s home shirts since Central Mirfield became the first back in 1982.
Rekorderlig’s relationship with Huddersfield Town will continue as an official commercial partner, as Kieron Barton – Owner of Rekorderlig’s global brand distributor Chilli Marketing – explained:
“Everyone at Rekorderlig Cider has been proud to be Huddersfield Town’s main home shirt sponsor over the past three seasons – and we are truly delighted with the results.
“The sponsorship, and exposure that comes with it, has helped us raise our profile and support our growth on a local, national and international scale.
“As a championship club, Huddersfield Town are on TV weekly both in the UK and internationally and the sponsorship has given our brand some great media exposure.
“Whilst the time has now come for us to move away from the home shirt, we are committed to continuing our commercial relationship with Huddersfield Town and will be involved in several areas, which will continue to see Rekorderlig sold at the John Smith’s Stadium and at PPG Canalside.”
Huddersfield Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis commented:
“I would like to thank Kieron and the team from Rekorderlig for their support of the Club over the past three seasons, which I’m delighted will continue during 2015/16.
“Rekorderlig Cider embodies the type of strong brand with local roots that the Club is proud to be involved with and it’s great to hear that the relationship has benefited them as much as us, as that is exactly what we want for every one of our commercial partners.
“The Club is currently seeking a new home shirt sponsor to be proudly displayed across the famous blue and white stripes. Nothing is set in stone yet, but we are already in advanced conversations with three organisations.
“The aim is to have the new home shirt sponsor in place ahead of the launch of the Club’s 2015/16 home kit, which is planned for the closed season.”
