Latest Shooting Star announced Date: 02/10/2015

Magic Rock Brewing Co. is the latest winner of the ‘Shooting Star’ business award, named by Huddersfield Town and club partner Lucas Lee and Partners.

This prestigious award is able to recognise excellence in the local area.

Magic Rock Brewing Co. is the result of three people’s passion for beer. Brothers Richard and Jonny Burhouse, aided by head brewer Stuart Ross, were inspired to start the brewery by their love of great beer and the burgeoning U.S craft beer scene in particular.

Driven by a desire to bring exciting characterful beers to their local market and beyond, brewing commenced mid-2011.

Exceptional demand in the first few years necessitated an expansion in 2015 to a new 50 hectolitre brewkit housed at a 25000sqft site close to Huddersfield Town centre. The site also features a bespoke 4000sqft Tap Room where beer fans can taste the beer as close to the source as possible.

Richard Burhouse, Managing Director of Magic Rock Brewing Co., said:

“As a born and bred Huddersfield resident I was very pleased to receive the award. We’ve all worked really hard over the last few years establishing the brewery and it’s great to get recognition for our efforts.

“I’m also a lifelong HTAFC fan and thinks it’s admirable that the Club is pro-actively looking to build relationships within the local business community and commend Lucas Lee on its support for the initiative.”

Chris Lee, Managing Director of Lucas Lee & Partners, added:

“Magic Rock Brewery Co. is another fantastic local business. It has grown considerably over the last few years leading to expansion and a new brewery site in Huddersfield. The company is a very worthy winner of this award”

Huddersfield Town’s Commercial Manager – Partnerships, John Williams commented:

“The ‘Shooting Star’ award has been setup to recognise business excellence in the Huddersfield area. Magic Rock Brewery Co. has done extremely well and certainly meet the criteria for this award. Well done from all at Huddersfield Town.”
