Huddersfield Town Club Partner Expect Distribution have been working hard during the COVID-19 pandemic to help people in the UK.

After being identified as key workers, Expect Distribution adapted to the Government guidelines to keep their drivers safe.

Daily COVID-19 meetings with key members of the management team are held regularly to discuss government guidance and implement required actions. Health and safety became every manager’s main focus.

Their drivers no longer carry paperwork or get signatures when delivering goods, instead they carry hand sanitiser and wipes for their vehicles.

The Government’s furlough scheme also helped to protect jobs at the business as their volume dropped by 40% as some of their customers closed their sites.

Expect Distribution’s staff adapted well to the changes in normality – dealing with issues, working from home or being put on the furlough scheme.

Like many businesses, they’ve done a number of different thinks to keep morale high with their Free Brekky Fridays, barbequed by different members of the management team each week or by bringing the beach to Expect with their Summer Holiday themed Friday on 22nd May.

Members of the public have also helped to keep up the team’s spirits, with people stopping and clapping Expect Distribution’s drivers when they are out delivering essential items.

Drawings and pictures from young children thanking Expect Distribution’s flooded in alongside numerous thank you posts on social media.
