Batley-based fire engine maker, Angloco has been named the latest winner of Huddersfield Town’s Shooting Stars Award, created in tandem with club partner Lucas Lee to recognise excellence in the local area.
Established in 1965, Angloco is the UK’s oldest manufacturer of fire-fighting and rescue vehicles.
Using its own extensive design and production capabilities and selected specialist partners, it supplies a complete range including not just the “standard” pumping appliances you will see on the streets but also special models for airports, wildfires, petrochemical, aerial rescue, and even high-volume pumps for floods.
Angloco has long been established as an exporter – in many years more than half of production is exported. With extensive experience in supply and support overseas it even supplied a 45ft fireboat to Guyana in South America this year. In support of the emergency services it’s no surprise that customer service is a priority.
Angloco’s service support is recognised in the industry as second-to-none with the team regularly responding 24-7.
Receiving the award on behalf of Angloco was John Hibbert, Senior Designer, who’s 36 years of loyalty to the company is exceeded only by his dedication to Huddersfield Town – regularly attending games since 1968.
Chris Lee – Managing Director of Lucas Lee said:
“Angloco have a fantastic set up in Batley, and already outgrowing their premises it will be an interesting 12 months ahead for them as they look to expand even further.
“I wish Alistair, John and the team all the best for the future.”
Jon MacDonald – Partnership Executive added:
“It was a pleasure to meet Alistair, John and the team at Angloco, they have a great work ethic, and the future looks really bright for them.
“The machines they produce are fantastic and up close you really get a sense of their power and capabilities, and all built here in West Yorkshire.”
