All the guests for Huddersfield Town’s annual Chairman’s Lunch ‘Captains of Industry’ have been confirmed.
Former Huddersfield Town and England defender Trevor Cherry was the final captain to be announced.
The now-69 year-old started his career at Huddersfield Town at the age of just 14 before signing a professional deal just three years later.
After impressing as a youngster Cherry quickly became a permanent fixture in the Town line-up and was part of the side that last achieved promotion to the top-flight.
He went on to make 188 appearances for Town scoring 12 goals before joining Leeds United. It was during his time at Leeds where he made his England debut on 24 March 1976 against Wales before going on to earn 27 caps.
Two female guests have been added to the illustrious list of captains attending Huddersfield Town’s annual Chairman’s Lunch, which is sponsored by Lucas Lee & Partners.
Jessica Watson and Alex Keighley will join Trevor Cherry, Tyrone Nurse, Andrew Gale, Eorl Crabtree and Jason Robinson OBE on stage with the Club’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis at the event.
Jess Watson was appointed as Yorkshire County Cricket’s Women’s First Team Captain in 2017 after rising through the Youth rankings at the Cricket Club.
She will be able to discuss her new role and what she has learnt since captaining YCC’s women.
Golfer Alex Keighley will also put an interesting spin on leadership at the event after competing in the European Tour during her career.
Alex now teaches gold to people and youngsters in Huddersfield, so she will be able to discuss her best methods of helping people progress and develop.
One of the guests Jason Robinson OBE caught up with #HTTV – which is sponsored by Illingworth and Gregory – and explained why he is looking forward to the event.
The event will take place on Friday 8 December in the White Rose Club of the John Smith’s Stadium between 12 noon and 4pm and is this year sponsored by Club Partner Lucas Lee & Partners.
The event will see captains of different sports talk about their experiences and the role they have played to achieve greatness and what skills are needed to perform the role of a captain.
Commercial Director Sean Jarvis commented:
