Total Foodservice to fuel cyclists Date: 11/04/2013

Club partner Total Foodservice has once again backed the Pedal for Pounds bike ride by donating 900 flapjacks to help keep the cyclists fuelled during the 240 mile challenge!

In three weeks’ time, 290 cyclists will pedal over 240 miles around the county on the Pink Link P4P4 Tour of Yorkshire, stopping off in Hull, Scarborough and Harrogate, to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Club’s Academy.

They will enjoy an assortment of mixed flapjacks produced by Leeds-based Exquisite Handmade Cakes and jointly donated in conjunction with Dalton based Total Foodservice.

Teresa Whyte of Total Foodservice is pictured at Canalside Sports Complex this week handing the first batch of flapjacks over to Town’s Club Ambassador Andy Booth.

Simon Howarth, Managing Director of Total Foodservice, commented:

“Once again we are proud to be associated with a well-established fundraising event like ‘Pedal for Pounds’, which raises money for the essential lifesaving Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity.

“I wish all the cyclists a safe, fun and pain-free journey around the glorious Yorkshire countryside.”

Robyn Deegan, Supporter Partnerships Manager at Huddersfield Town, added:

“We’d like to thank Simon and everyone at Total Foodservice and Exquisite Handmade Cakes for their continued support of Pedal for Pounds.

“Their flapjacks have now become a staple part of the cyclists’ Pedal for Pounds diet and will help give them the energy needed to complete the 240 miles.”

P4P4 is the fourth instalment of the Club’s annual bike rides and will raise funds for the lifesaving Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity and the Huddersfield Town Academy.

The ride will start in Huddersfield on Wednesday 1 May 2013 with cyclists taking a circular route around God’s own county to Hull, Scarborough, Harrogate and back to Huddersfield in time for the Club’s last home League fixture v Barnsley on Saturday 4 May 2013.

The likes of Director Sean Jarvis, Club Ambassador Andy Booth and Academy Manager Mark Lillis are among the 290 cyclists who have signed up to take part this year.
