The man behind Rotherham United’s rise to the Sky Bet Championship, Tony Stewart, is the latest guest to be confirmed at Dean Hoyle’s ‘Chairman’s Lunch’ on Thursday 10 March 2016.

Back in 2008 Tony – the owner of Rotherham-based ASD Lighting PLC – took over a Club that was in Administration and was preparing for a season in the Football League’s basement division with a 17-point penalty.

A factor in the Millers’ dire financial situation was the rent being charged at their stadium, Millmoor; something that led the Club to play its games at the now-demolished Don Valley Stadium.

After four years of League Two – including a play-off final defeat by Dagenham & Redbridge – and four managers, Stewart returned the Club to S60 and Rotherham’s new home, the £17m New York Stadium.

Stewart, with Steve Evans at the First Team held, subsequently oversaw back-to-back promotions to the second tier, where the Millers remain today.

Tony will join Bury’s Stewart Day, Wigan Athletic’s David Sharpe, Oldham Athletic’s Simon Corney and Town’s Dean Hoyle at the event, with one more Chairman still to be announced!

The event will take place at the John Smith’s Stadium, with a focus on ‘A New Breed’ of Chairmen in the Football League. Prior to the Q&A, guests will also enjoy a two course lunch.

Individual tickets for the event, which is sponsored by Barclays, are priced at £50 + VAT, with tables of 10 available for £450 + VAT. For further details or to book your place at the exclusive event, please contact the Events Department on 01484 484183 or email
