Sparkling relationship continues! Date: 03/08/2015

Huddersfield Town’s commercial partnership with Standard Fireworks will continue into the 2015/16 season.

Standard Fireworks, which was established in 1891 and still has its UK sales, marketing, warehousing and distribution base in Crosland Hill, Huddersfield, initially teamed up with ‘The Yorkshire Club’ at the start of last season.

Standard Fireworks was purchased by China-based Black Cat Fireworks in 1998, but is still based at its 44+ acre site at Crosland Hill, Huddersfield that it moved to in 1910.

As per last season, the Terriers will work with Standard Fireworks to run and promote a children’s firework safety poster competition in local schools during the run-up to 2015 Bonfire Night, further details of which will be confirmed in due course.

Standard Fireworks will also play a big role in Huddersfield Town’s Firework Display, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday 25 October at PPG Canalside on the back of the success of last year’s inaugural event.

Huddersfield Town Season Card holders can benefit from this partnership too; simply show your card, with ID, at the Standard Fireworks factory shop in Crosland Moor to receive 10% off the advertised prices!

Huddersfield Town’s Katie Barraclough commented:

“It’s great news that we have renewed the partnership agreement with a Huddersfield-based, industry-leading brand in Standard Fireworks.

“Last season, our partnership made a difference in our community through the Bonfire Night safety poster, highlighting the potential dangers to local youngsters, as well as with the spectacular first Fireworks Display at PPG Canalside. The Club is looking forward to building on that success in 2015/16.”

Austin Brown, General Manager of Standard Fireworks, added:

“Standard Fireworks is very pleased to be extending its partnership with HTAFC into its second year following last year’s success.

“The company found its partnership really valuable in helping to reach out to the local community and help raise awareness of firework safety through the schools poster campaign and the great firework event held at PPG Canalside.

“I know look forward to continuing to work closely with the team at Huddersfield Town and improving on all that was achieved last year.”
