Jolaby is the latest winner of Huddersfield Town’s ‘Shooting Star’ business award, created in tandem with club partner Lucas Lee and Partners to recognise excellence in the local area.
Formed in 2004, the Jolaby brand was designed exclusively for the independent stylish woman with a product offering of leather goods, beautifully sculptured and hand finished.
As the business grew, momentum built along with a growing demand for clothing; something to create the complete ‘Jolaby Woman’.
Jolaby is now known throughout the UK & Ireland can be found in 90 independent stores. All design is carried out in-house and managed by head designer and founder Joanne Lackenby. All garments are produced locally within the UK, ensuring its quality and ‘Handmade in England’ status.
Joanne and Steven of Jolaby also have two boutiques based in Huddersfield; Dare and Dare355.
Steven Lowther, Director at Jolaby, said:
“It was a great honour to receive this award and Jo, the team and I are overwhelmed with this recognition of achievements by Jolaby. This makes us very proud to be based in Huddersfield and manufacture in Yorkshire.”
Chris Lee of Lucas Lee & Partners added:
“We discovered Jolaby having seen various celebrities wearing their clothes and handbags when pictured in the media. Discovering they are based in Huddersfield was a genuine surprise and it’s another example of the diverse range of talent and successful entrepreneurs in the Kirklees area. They are clearly very talented and great winners of ‘Shooting Star’ award.”
Huddersfield Town’s Commercial Manager – Partnerships, John Williams commented:
“The ‘Shooting Star’ award has been setup to recognise excellence in business throughout our area and it’s clear that Jolaby has grown over such a short period of time. This is a testament to Jo and Steve for their hard work, especially in tough economic times.
“Jolaby is a very worthy winner and I’m delighted to have presented them with the award.”
