Huddersfield Town Commercial Director, Sean Jarvis paid a visit to club partner Longley Park to meet the 8-year-old Town supporter, Alysia Singh, who won a competition to lead out the England team in their World Cup fixture against Panama.

The all-expenses trip to Russia was the prize she received for her winning “Skills Video” that she entered as part of a national competition ran by Kia.

Alysia paid a visit to Longley Park – Huddersfield’s local Kia dealership and a Huddersfield Town club partner – to meet with their Managing Director John Waite and Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis.

Town’s Commercial Director, Sean Jarvis presented her with a range of Huddersfield Town Merchandise that included a Terry & Tilly the Terrier and a replica David Wagner Baseball Cap.

The 8-year-old Town fan attends both the ‘Tomorrows Terriers’ and ‘Wildcats’ football sessions ran by the Town Foundation and goes to the Huddersfield Town matches with her Dad. Her favourite Town player is Aaron Mooy, closely followed by Steve Mounié and Alex Pritchard.

Alysia’s was overjoyed with the win as she explained:

“I’m really excited and I can’t believe that I won it. I didn’t know I would win it from the video I did on YouTube just for fun! Out 64 children from the whole world I will be the only person from England going!

“Me and Daddy did a skills video, just for fun, and my Dad entered the competition with Kia and they’ve seen it and picked mine! I’m looking forward to seeing Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford out in Russia. I’ve been to a load of home matches this season.”

John Waite, the Managing Director at Kia Longley Park commented:

“It came to my attention that Alysia had put in this fabulous video and won this competition about two or three weeks ago, it’s great news and she’s done really well! Kia backed it initially and we got involved, with Kia being our dealership and Alysia being a massive Huddersfield Town supporter, it’s just a natural thing.”

Town’s Commercial Director, Sean Jarvis added:

“It’s a brilliant competition that Kia have done, it’s giving someone the opportunity to go to the World Cup. I’ve seen the video and it’s fantastic, so what better than having a Huddersfield Town representative.

“We’ve got four players out there, so having a fifth representing England is fantastic. Good on her and good on Dad [Ravi]; it’s great to be flying the flag for Yorkshire and Huddersfield.

“It’s great that John and the Kia team have embraced this national competition as well. She was clearly a deserving winner and to have someone like that representing Huddersfield out there is great.”
