Over 180 National Hunt racing fans were at The John Smith’s Stadium for the Huddersfield Town Cheltenham Gold Cup Lunch in association with event partner See It Now Sports.
The event was sponsored by Yorkshire Payments and SDH Project Services.
Club Legend Andy Booth along with Eorl Crabtree of the Huddersfield Giants were the celebrity ‘tipsters’ for the day, but unfortunately could not muster up a winner between them!
The lunch attendees were treated to live Irish music on St Patrick’s Day weekend, prior to the racing.
The feature race of the day was the Cheltenham Gold Cup, won by Al Boum Photo. That was one of seven races on Gold Cup Day, alongside the Foxhunter Steeple Chase and the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle.
All the races were screened throughout the day with Comedian Pete Emmett acting as Master of Ceremonies.
Huddersfield Town Commercial Manager Alex Nicholson was delighted with this year’s event:
“It was great to welcome all of our guests and sponsors to the John Smith’s Stadium for this year’s Virtual Cheltenham Gold Cup event.
“The afternoon overall was a great success, we hope our guests enjoyed themselves and hopefully picked up some winnings – even if our celebrity ‘tipsters’ didn’t quite have the luck on their side!
“As always, on behalf of everyone at Huddersfield Town, I would like to thank event partner See It Now Sports and event sponsors Yorkshire Payments and SDH Project Services for making it all possible.”
