The annual Town at the Races trip, held in association with BGC Racing, went down a huge success as Wetherby races again played host to the event on Friday 22 June 2018.

Guests arrived at Huddersfield Town’s training ground, PPG Canalside to enjoy a two-course meal before jumping onto the executive coaches provided by Eavesway ahead of the evening of racing. Heineken & Haighs both provided refreshments for guests to enjoy on the coach.

Some of the guests had the chance to sponsor one of the races, granting them the opportunity to present the award for the best turned out horse and present to the winning jockey of their sponsored race. The sponsored races were:

– The Hepworth Honda Celebration Handicap
– The Yorkshire Payment’s Fillies Handicap
– The Lady Luna and Jessie Juju Knee’s Up
– Classic Car Shows @ Handicap

At the conclusion of the evening’s racing, Yorkshire rock band Hope and Social entertained the crowds before guests got back on the coache to round off a great day of racing.

Corporate Events and Sales Coordinator, Jasmine Roebuck commented:

“The Town at the Races events always prove to be very popular and enjoyable for guests. I would like to thank all the sponsors and everyone who came along for making it yet another successful event.”
