BUSINESSES AT HTEA BENEFIT CHILDREN IN THE COMMUNITY Date: 07/01/2019

Over the Christmas period, local businesses went that extra mile to support the local community through the help of the Town Foundation.

More than 70 people attended the Huddersfield Town Enterprise Academy’s Jingle Mingle event, which saw businesses from across Kirklees come together for a traditional Christmas lunch at Kirklees College’s Landings 72.

The location was transformed into a veritable Christmas Grotto for their delicious Christmas dinner, whilst the festivities were further enhanced by a special visit from St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School’s Choir, who serenaded them with some classic carols to get us in the festive spirit.

The special choir was made up of 15 nine to 10-year-olds from the Dalton-based school.

Coffee and mince pies followed the lunch before over 70 gifts were given to the Town Foundation.

Huddersfield Town’s Official charity then donated them to siblings of pupils at North Huddersfield Trust School and Ashbrow Junior School.

Huddersfield Town’s Senior Commercial Manager for Hospitality, Tracy Nelson, commented:

“It was great to see a number of local businesses come together for the special Huddersfield Town Enterprise Academy Jungle Mingle event.

“These are always great ways for local businesses to get to know each other more and to network.

“Alongside this, I am very proud we could use our business network to help the local community. I’m sure the gifts would’ve put smiles on the children’s faces and I’d thank to say thank you to the Town Foundation for helping us do that.”
