Huddersfield Town held its annual Classic Golf Day, sponsored by Complete Business Solutions, on Friday 12 April 2019 at Woodsome Hall Golf Club.
Teams of four competed for the coveted HTAFC Shield, when proceedings got underway at 1pm.
Prior to that, all players were served refreshments in the two hours before with all participants.
After a day on the course, all players were treated to a two-course meal followed by a presentation where the day’s winners were presented with their prizes. Each golfer was also given an exclusive Glenbrae Merino zip neck jumper.
The players competed in a Fourball Matchplay format, most commonly seen in the Ryder Cup, whilst there were also individual competitions taking place such as Beat the Pro, Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin.
The winners on the day were the team from ‘British Inclusive Golf’, an organisation that aims to bring both disabled and non-disabled people together through the game of golf.
They also work closely with golf clubs to get more young people with mental or physical disabilities into the sport.
Runners-up were ‘CV Graphics’ whilst the team from ‘AJM Drives’ came third in this year’s round.
Huddersfield Town’s Commercial Manager for Advertising & Events Alex Nicholson was delighted with how this year’s event went and commented:
“It was great to see multiple companies and players participate in this year’s Huddersfield Town Classic Golf Day.
“The day was a big positive, showcasing a good standard of golf whilst bringing together many Huddersfield Town associates on a social level too.
“A massive thank you to Complete Business Solutions for sponsoring this event, to Woodsome Hall Golf Club for hosting it and to all the players for taking part in an all-round successful day!”
