Huddersfield-based Brewfitt has today been confirmed as the latest winner of the ‘Shooting Star’ business award, created by Huddersfield Town in tandem with club partner Total Dilapidations Services (TDS).
Each month Huddersfield Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis, alongside TDS’ Managing Director Chris Lee and Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins, will select a business that is making a difference in the area to receive the accolade (click HERE for full info).
Brewfitt has become the third winner of this accolade, following on from Continental Sports Ltd and Control House.
The UK’s number one drinks dispense solutions provider, Brewfitt is also at the forefront of the latest technological developments within the industry.
The company’s history dates back to the 1950s when the beer cooler was invented by Eric Paxman, the father of Brewfitt’s current Chairman. It has also been Celli’s sole UK distributor for over 25 years and for over half a century Brewfitt has been a thriving, hard-working family business, providing innovation to the drinks dispense sector.
Brewfitt was the judges’ choice as the ‘Shooting Star’ for January 2014 due to its innovative ‘Cooltube’ and ‘4Flow’ products; new products that aim to save pubs money across the Globe. ‘4Flow’ is a coolant liquid designed to freeze at sub-zero temperatures, while Cooltube is a compact heat exchanger. This means that punters can enjoy colder beer, while pubs will save between £3,000 and £5,000 in reduction in energy consumption and beer wastage.
Brewfitt faced stiff competition for this monthly accolade, pipping the likes of The Shepherd Group, Kippax Willows, Monster Pet Supplies, Marshalls, Rockstar Games, Weedfree, Business Enterprise Fund, BJSS and Suma Wholefoods to the award.
Huddersfield Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis commented:
“The number of companies on our shortlist for the January ‘Shooting Star’ award shows how well businesses are doing in our region; Huddersfield really is the place to make it!
“However, the recent innovations that Brewfitt has come up with made them the obvious recipient for this award.
“At Huddersfield Town, we constantly tell the staff not to rest on their laurels; even when you have achieved something, it is important you keep pushing the boundaries. I think Brewfitt embody this philosophy; they are already number one in their industry, but now they have come up with two new pieces of technology that can further their position.
“I would like to congratulate their Managing Director Curtis Paxman and the rest of the staff at Brewfitt.”
TDS Director Christopher Lee added:
“Brewfitt’s local, nation and international achievements are well worth of recognition; in fact I believe their winning only serves to increase the prestige of the award. It’s a privilege to present the award to a friendly family business showing as much commitment to their staff as their clients.”
Brewfitt Managing Director Curtis Paxman explained:
“We at Brewfitt are delighted to receive the Shooting Star Award from Huddersfield Town and its partners. The acknowledgement for our recent achievements is greatly appreciated.
“The Award received is an honour, especially considering the local competition which has some fantastic products and services alike. Myself and all the Brewfitt team would like to thank the judges and the Club for recognising our hard work and dedication to our business and products.”
