Local catering company Asparagus Green Catering has become the most recent business to win the Huddersfield Town’s ‘Shooting Star’ award, held in association with Lucas Lee & Partners.

Asparagus Green Catering is a small independent company who has been in operation for just over two and half years. Winning its first contract two years ago at the National Coal Mining Museum to run the café operation and then adding the Conference and Events sales and catering to this contract.

On the back of this success, it has recently been awarded its second contract at York Museum Gardens and shall shortly be expanding its portfolio adding Pontefract Castle Visitor Centre Café.

Asparagus Green boast the majority of its produce is locally sourced, supporting local businesses within the region with its emphasis being freshly prepared and homemade Yorkshire food. The company also takes its CSR very seriously supporting a number of initiatives such as the Green Earth Appeal and working with a number of charities.

Asparagus Green Director Anthony Hegney believes the key to its rapid growth is down to investing time and training into the team to ensure that everyone feels equipped for their roles, valued and a part of the great success story. Without them, the company would not be where it is today.

As well as the various on-site teams, Asparagus Green provide a professional back office support team who also focus on the business to ensure all the venue staff have access to the best practice knowledge around standard business practice and procedures.
