Huddersfield Town’s business networking group, the Huddersfield Town Enterprise Academy (HTEA), has broken through a significant landmark, securing its 2,000th member.
The group, run in partnership with long standing Club partner Kirklees College, has been established for six years with the aim of bringing businesses of all shapes and sizes together to share best practice and – if possible – work together.
Located on LinkedIn pages the ‘business’ Academy is now regarded as one of the most significant ‘business groups’ in the Kirklees area. The group shares its best practice through debate online and via quarterly meetings arranged by Kirklees College and the Football Club.
This year the ‘Academy’ has been invited to open the well-established Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce’s Kirklees Business Week 2014 by holding the first of a series of seminars that are planned. The event will take place at Kirklees College on Monday 13 October at 8.30am till 10.30am and will debate the subject of ‘Master of Growth’ with local entrepreneurs including Graham Leslie and Andrew Hobson.
Commenting Sean Jarvis, Commercial Director of Huddersfield Town, said:
“The group has gone from strength to strength and is populated by a variety of businesses that reflect our local community. Each time we now hold an event we literally have a waiting list to attend.”
Jason Taylor, Commercial Manager for Kirklees College, added:
“Working with Town has been excellent in assisting to attract businesses to the fold. Having reached this landmark demonstrates the pull that we collectively have and getting 2,000 businesses join is great for our community.”
